In 2008, Dr Tumi, then part of a gospel group called Intense, took to the stage to wow thousands of Christians attending MegaFest in South Africa.
The two-day event, which was attended by an estimated audience of over 100 000, was organized and hosted by world-renowned preacher and bestselling author Bishop TD Jakes. He was equally impressed, immediately requesting to see the talented young man as soon as he got off the stage.
It’s been almost seven years now since that day. Dr Tumi has gone solo and his first album did well, garnering him several nominations at the Annual SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards and where scooped the best Gospel RnB album award. He is now working on his second album and he will be recording it as a live DVD on 1 August 2015 at The Barnyard Theatre, Pretoria.
Accompanied by his live band and musicians, he will be dishing out 18 new and original songs about the love and grace of God. This promises to be an evening of praise and worship, dancing and thanking God for all that He has done. Simply entitled “Love and Grace Live DVD Recording”, this musical event will also serve to “acknowledge the finished work of the cross in our lives”. The 18 songs will undoubtedly also put on display the master song writing skills that Dr Tumi is well known for.
